<strong><em>Triandra pellabergensis</em> (Hyacinthaceae subfam. Urgineoideae), a new genus and species from Pella se Berge, Northern Cape Province, South Africa</strong>

Within the framework of a taxonomic revision subfamily Urgineoideae based on morphological, genetic and phytogeographic data covering numerous samples from its whole range distribution, we here describe new genus species Pella se Berge in northwestern South Africa. Triandra gen. nov. is easily characterized by absence stamens associated with outer tepal whorl, therefore having only three per flower, character previously unknown Hyacinthaceae. pellabergensis sp. produces hypogeal bulbs filiform proteranthous leaves, spurred bracts, lax racemes few, nodding, nocturnal flowers erect capsules withered tepals persisting atop. The resembles Urginea revoluta general morphology, although this latter has six different seed distinct pattern, distant phylogenetic relationship. A complete morphological description presented for species, including biology, ecology distribution.
